Pricing and Quotes
Call (07) 3522 3397When is the price agreed on a drain job?
Before any work starts. The plumber finds the cause, explains the fix and gives you a fixed upfront price, and nothing begins until you agree to that figure. No hourly rate guesswork.
How does the cost of a repair differ from a simple clear?
A clear is usually the smaller bill because it needs one visit and a machine through the line. A repair costs more once a camera shows a cracked or collapsed pipe, because access, depth and pipe material all add work.
What payment methods are accepted on the day?
Card and EFTPOS, paid once the job is finished and tested. There is no invoice to chase and no deposit to arrange beforehand, so the paperwork closes out while the plumber is still at your place.
Is relining less costly than digging up a pipe?
It depends on the damage. Relining avoids digging up gardens, paths or driveways, which can make it the better value on a decorated yard, but a badly crushed or collapsed section still needs excavation before a liner can go in.
Drains Around Carseldine
Call (07) 3522 3397Do you cover Fitzgibbon, Zillmere and the other nearby suburbs?
Yes. Bald Hills, Fitzgibbon, Zillmere, Aspley and Bridgeman Downs all sit on the regular run, and each has its own page on this site. The same drain work is offered across all of them.
Why do creek-side yards near Cabbage Tree Creek block after summer storms?
The low ground beside the creek takes runoff from the whole catchment, and the November to March thunderstorm season pushes a lot through at once. Pits and gullies on those flats surcharge, and silt settles in the lines as the water drains away.
Are the clay drains in the older streets harder to clear?
They can be. The 1980s subdivisions mostly ran clay pipe with joints that have drifted out of line over the decades, so roots catch on the misalignment. Clearing works, but a camera run is worth doing to check the joints held up.
What if the blockage turns out to be in the sewer main?
The main past your boundary connection belongs to Urban Utilities, so a fault on that side is the authority's to fix. We clear your run, and if the camera points past the boundary we say so plainly rather than charging for work that is not ours.
Will tree roots return after a drain has been cleared?
Possibly, if the joint that let them in is left open. Cutting the roots back clears the line, but sealing the joint by relining or replacing the section is what stops the same roots coming back next season.
How often should drains near the creek be inspected?
There is no set rule, but a camera check every couple of years is a sensible habit for houses on the low ground beside Cabbage Tree Creek, where silt and roots move in quietly. Finding a narrowing early beats an overflow after a storm.
